Sports car driver Pierre Ehret had to book the Blancpain Endurance race in Silverstone as one of his shortest appearances in this endurance series so far. After just half a lap, the race ended with a collision at the end of the Chapel Curve. A push by a competitor sent the Ferrari of the german into a spin, where he met a competitor at the beginning of the Hangar Straight. With a heavy rear damage Ehret, who luckily got out of the car unharmed, had to park the Rinaldi-Racing Ferrari.

Ehret: "I got a push from behind while turning into the Hangar Straight and from there on I was only a passenger. Then the Ferrari hit an Audi hard, that had also spun on the track just before. Too bad that our race was finished so early and sorry to my teammates who didn't get to drive anymore. Here we could have collected urgently needed points."

Also at the previous 12h race in Spa, Ehret was haunted by bad luck. Despite some solid stints by him, the Rinaldi Racing Ferrari - a different chassis than Pierre's BES car - crashed in the late stages of the race.
