Pierre Ehret and his Partner Dion von Moltke finished the 4 hours of Laguna Seca, the 3rd round of the ALMS 2013, in the 9th Position of the GTC-class. But the german privateer and his Partner Dion van Moltke were handicapped by 2 early collisions which put the Flying Lizzard Motorsport Porsche out of competition for a podium-spot in the class.

„It felt like ping-pong was today the name of the game instead racing. During the 2nd warm-up-lap I was pushed from the track by the #10 Dempsey-del Pierro-Porsche in the Corkscrew-corner. So instead of starting the race I had to come in for 4 new tires and start the race 1 lap behind the field.

Then in lap 16 two Prototypes collided right before me in Raineys Corner (behind Corkscrew). One hit me very hard on my left rear while rejoining the track, so that the handling of the car became very difficult. 3 laps later the tire exploded and the car was beached in the gravel of Turn 6, causing the 2nd of 7 yellows in the race.“

„After recovery and the return to the box we found out not only the tire but also the suspension and the dampers got damaged. The team did its best to get the car quickly ready to rejoin the race, but we were not able to fight for positions. Especially after we lost 6 laps during the repair.“

„I felt today a very agressive driving style was maintained especially by some of the prototype-pilots as these were not the only incidents. Also Dion confirmed that he never exerienced a such agressive mood during his ALMS-races. Maybe the race-mashalls should have been more stricter in watching these incidents Even after our notice to the marshalls regarding the warm-up-accident with the #10 there were no consequences initiated. For the coming races we must hope that the race officials are more carefully watching this.“
