Double duty at Le Mans

This Weekend Pierre Ehret is facing double duty at the traditional edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans. While starting for the 6th time at the classic sportscar event he will also race in the Ferrari Challenge support race. There nearly 50 cars of the actual model F458 Challenge will hit the 13,629km long circuit in the north-west of France.

This weekend marks Pierres start at the 24h of Le Mans. The pilot and car-owner of the CRS-maintained Ferrari F430 GT2 with the number 62 did 5 previous races from 2005 to 2009. 3 times he turned the wheel on a Porsche GT2 with the teams Sebah (2005), Seikel (2006) and Autorlando (2007). 2008 and 2009 he was participating with a Ferrari F430, with the crews of Farnbacher Racing and the Team Modena. 2006 to 2008 he finished on the GT2-podium 3 times in a row (3rd in 2007&8; 2nd in 2006). The 54 year old german resident took the flag at every race he participated.

The support race of the Ferrari Challenge is a good chance for Pierre to make himself more familliar with the demanding track of La Sarthe. His car will be the #191 Ferrari F458 Challenge of the german team Scuderia GT, which are regular starters in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe. The south german team from Irschenberg conquer the european one-make challenge of which the 4th race 2011 is held in Le Mans. The Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe is one of 4 Cups which Ferrari is organising for Customers of the F458. 2 of this series – the national italian Challenge and the european series – unite this weekend their fields in Le Mans.
